Core Process Psychotherapy is based on a depth understanding of human personality and potential. The 'Core' is our inherent unconditioned state, our true potential, in which the qualities of peace, loving kindness, compassion, and joy manifest. Our experiences in life, from our first moments, condition us and move us away from the Core. Each of us shapes our personality into a unique form, which we identify as 'me' and through which we relate to the outer world. Core Process Psychotherapy aims to support a developing awareness of this shaping process and how it can limit us. In this greater awareness, our Core qualities can emerge more into our daily lives and relationships.

The Introductory Workshop will provide you with an overview of Core Process Psychotherapy. Buddhist theories of mind will be outlined, together with Western psychotherapeutic theory, and both of these interwoven with experiential exercises.

The workshops are open to anyone interested in psychotherapy in general as well as for those who wish to know more about Buddhist inspired psychotherapy.

More information about Core Process Psychotherapy and the training programs at The Karuna Institute will be available at the workshops.

Awareness in Relationship
An introductory workshop to Core Process Psychotherapy
How can we deepen our capacity to be in relationship in these times of
disconnection and isolation?
How can we hold some sense of ground and contact in the midst of
suffering?
Awareness practice or mindfulness has the potential to transform the way
we experience ourselves, others and our world. We can cultivate presence,
acceptance, compassion and spaciousness in relationship and we can reconnect
to a deep and innate sense of interconnectedness.
In this workshop we will begin an exploration of this territory from the
perspective of the Buddhist orientated practice of Core Process
Psychotherapy.
Core Process Psychotherapy is rooted in Buddhist psychology and
awareness practice. It incorporates current Western psychotherapeutic
approaches and skills in a deep exploration of our human experience.
The "core" is the aspect of our being which is inherently whole and
healthy and in which the qualities of peace, loving kindness, compassion and
joy are manifest. This unconditioned state is potentially present in all of
us in every moment.
Our Process is the way in which we meet the constantly arising
experience – or conditions – in our lives. We tend to take on shapes or
personality formations that limit us and obscure the fundamental well being
of our core.
Core Process Psychotherapy offers a contemplative approach to exploring
in depth how we are in our present experience and how this includes our past
conditioning and experiences. Working with the spiritual, physical,
psychological and energetic layers of our experience allows us to deepen our
contact with the qualities of our core.
Introductory workshops offer an opportunity to have a "taster" of Core
Process work. They include talks, discussions and experiential practice.
