KUM NYE ONE YEAR FOUNDATION TRAINING 2013

AND INDIVIDUALLY OFFERED RETREATS    with Maura Sills and Cheryl Allen

This one-year Training in the Kum Nye practices brought to the west by Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche is offered at the Karuna Institute.  These practices involve the deepending embodiment practices of Nyingmapa Tibetan Buddhism within the context of the awareness practices of Theravadin Buddhism.  Karuna has integrated these practices as an important part of its Psychotherapy Training in Core Process Psychotherapy for over twenty years and also offered Kum Nye Retreats for all who are able to embrace the silent tradition of meditation.  It is offered at 6 x 5-day modules over one year.

Intention: To offer the practices for those who may want to deepen their personal Kum Nye meditative practice.  Also those who may want to incorporate these practices within their own therapeutic practice.  This may be extended to those practitioners who wish to offer introductory classes in Kum Nye.  The training will continue to be offered in Noble Silence but will include opportunities to extend a theoretical understanding of the psychospiritual practice within which the Buddhist paradigm and a Western psychodynamic orientation.
